P&O Irish Sea is introducing a new service which will provide a direct ferry link from Larne to Liverpool.
Commencing on 9th January 2002, the freight-only route will offer a daily round trip from the Port of Larne to Liverpool with a crossing time of 9 hours. Leaving Larne at 1500 hours, customers will arrive in Liverpool at midnight while the return voyage will leave Liverpool at 0300 hours arriving in Larne at 12 noon.

The Larne-Liverpool service complements our Larne-Fleetwood business and guarantees customers the excellent P&O service. The route also complements our Dublin-Liverpool service where we have introduced two new 130 unit Ropax vessels. It brings to a total of eight daily services which we operate out of North West England to Ireland.”

P&O Irish Sea currently operate services from Larne to Cairnryan, Fleetwood and Troon with a fleet of 7 ships. The introduction of a Larne-Liverpool route increases the number of sailings to and from the Port of Larne to up to 40 per day.
P&O Irish Sea is the leading ferry operator on the Irish Sea. In addition to the services from Larne, they also operate from Dublin to Liverpool and Mostyn in North Wales and from Rosslare to Cherbourg.
